Does it not rain where you live? I would think being on the road with other cars when it's raining out would be somewhat of a similar scenario.

Don't worry aout it at all. I have the Injen intake, and I drive my car through a touchless wash with high-pressure undercarriage wash about twice a week. I've never had a single problem. There is a LOT of underbody fairing material underneath the filter, so it shouldn't ever be a problem.

Although... it's been raining here for about two and a half weeks straight, and the other day, I drove through a puddle that was beginning to worry me! It was about a foot deep, and I ended up stopping, backing out of it, and going around in the oncoming traffic lane!!! F*cking rain!!!!!

Driving through standing water is a no-no! Rain, car washes are ok, but standing water is dangerous!

It's so wet here right now...

How wet is it?

It is so wet, that I was in line behind a G.I. at the movies the other day. He was talking to his buddy about the weather, and he said, "Dude... I thought you said Clarksville was DRIER than Seattle".

About two summers ago I think, el nino brought a $hitload of rain into Chicago and a lot of roads got flooded. I remember having to drive through what appeared to be 2 feet of standing water. I made it... but never again.

The water level would have to be as high as the top of your tire in order to worry about hydrolock. I had the Iceman CAI on my 99 Accord for about 2 years and never had any problems with hydrolock.

If any water does get thru a filter (prob must be drenched though), how bad will it screw with the MAF sensor?

hydrolock sucks, it happened to a friend of mines integra dsr, he wound up having to replace the block because the idiot tow truck guy tried to crank it, and a B17 block is hard as heck to find me and him both looked for 2 mths for one.

Put it this way, the MAF sensor will be the LEAST of your problems. Hydrolock can/will ruin your motor:

disclaimer: rainstorms will NOT lead to hydrolock; disregard the statement on the caption (above link)

Even if water do get onto the filter, doesn't it have to travel through the tubing and get to the intake manifold? How much suction is there in those CAI?? I dont think it is enough to suck water up the tubes and travel like 5 ft...... Does anyoen think otherwise? besides, the tubing is pretty hot during operation, some water will also be burned off.

As someone said previously, the no-no is standing water. The filter has to become completely immersed in water for the intake to have a chance of aspirating water instead of air. Even if your filter gets wet from puddles and car washes, the intake will only aspirate air since it is lighter than the water; but if the filter is fully submerged then you are out of luck.

I am a fellow Greek...
