Mounting bodykit...

what would one use to mount side skirts and lips.
from lookin at my stillen side skirts and a few searches on the forum, it seems some screws on the side with thick double sided tape would hold it in place. talking to my bodyshop, they said double tape wouldn't be enough. they said an adhesive to hold it in place would be better.

what are you guys using, and what do you suggest i use. if i do use double sided tape, which kind? is there a brand i should use?

as you can see, i've never dealt with lips so i'm pretty much stuck starin at these things.

thanx a lot guys.

Put some rivets on both ends inside the fenderwell. And if you want, rivets on the door sill.

I have yet to install the sides on my car, but we are planning on using 3M tape. It's the same one I used to mount the rear piece. Nothing beats 3M. I saw that someone else riveted the sides on, near the door sill. I don't really want to do that even though the only time I'll see it is when the door is open. I'm hoping the tape will be enough.

thanx man...this is what i wanted to hear...was it thick 3m tape or what? like foam tape. see how much i don't know about this
talking to a friend of mine, he told me the 3m wouldn't last more than a winter, so i guess some reassurance would help.

I'm using the 1/2" tape. I don't have item numbers or anything, but I know it has the red backing on it. It's specifically made for bumpers and other automotive stuff. I don't know how it will be in extreme cold/hot temps as here in Hawaii cold is like 65 degrees. I do know that 3M makes the best tape, so if you're going the tape route, 3M is the way to go.

Any update on the HID situation?
