I can't vote because I'm undecided also. The tok blues will be a better ride, but the GR-2s will handle better but supposedly won't last as long since they are stiffer. I don't know much, but I gotta decide by tomorrow or I'm going to go insane. I just ordered Maxspeeds and can't wait to "get my drop on"

The Kyb Gr-2 are alittle better then stock upgrade. The Tokico's will ride stiff when you first get them but once they settle in you will be bouncing.. Why don't you wanna get the AGx's? You can get them for $330 shipped from an org member in CT.. And all you need is the 4thgen upper mounts. Trust me the AGX's are worth the investment.

Can someone, with experience with these, comment on the differences and ride quality. I just installed my Maxspeeds. I love the ride but I am still on stock struts.

That's the question we both are pondering, Jonathon.

Unless you race the AGXs are overkill for what I'm doing. I've also heard since the are really stiff, they aren't very good for daily driving not lasting too long.

Please please get a group deal on the GR-2s. I'm about to call someone on the groupbuycenter.com about these. Hopefully it will be low.

As I posted in the Tokico thread in the Group Deals Forum, shox.com price for the Tokico Blues is $308 plus shipping for Maxima.org members.

But that isn't including shipping, so the GR-2s would be cheaper. This deal ends March 11. check the link http://www.groupbuycenter.com/buy.aspx?id=8820

I understand, was just posting in case anyone would rather have the Toks and didn't see in the Group Deals forum that the price given to teddibear over the phone was incorrect. I prefer the Toks to the GR-2's, less than a $10 total price difference has absolutely no impact on my decision.

Why do most people choose the Toks over the GR-2s? Aren't they suppose to be alike anyway? Why do you prefer the Toks?

I prefer the Toks because alot of people here have had them for decent lengths of time with no problems and good reports. Of course their are a couple of experiences that were not so good, but doing a search yeilds a ton of people with good reviews. On the other hand, I find many less people using the GR-2's and hardly any reports about them after a significant amount of time. Based on that, I would prefer to invest in the one that has many good reports rather than one that has only a few reports at all. I have no personal bias at all aside from my research here on the Org. If the GR-2's are better I welcome someone with experience to let me know why, but until then I think I'll purchase the Toks.

On a side note, wasn't it reported sometime last year that Tokico was supposed to realease illuminas sometime this year? Maybe I will wait for those...

If you want I can look into a good price on the GR-2's. There is a guy I went to in LA to get mine and he gave me a price of under $300. I can't remember the exact amount, I think it was like $250 or something. Don't quote me on it though!

But if you are serious about GR-2's, then e-mail me at foodmanry@hotmail.com and I'll give my contact a call.

In addition the fact that KYB's website says "KYB GR-2® Gas Shocks and Struts provide a smooth, comfortable ride with excellent control for drivers who are looking for maximum ride comfort", whereas the description of the Tokico Performance shocks on Toks website only speaks of improving performance, has a small impact on my decision. KYB seems to be emphasizing the GR-2's as comfort shocks with pretty good handling characteristics. Tokico seems to emphasize the Blue's performance aspects. What I am looking for falls much more inline with Tokicos descritpion of the blues than KYB's descrption of the GR-2's.
