Just a reminder, never drop the auto to first while in motion, it will give the tranny a loud bumppy noise... drop to 2nd if you feel like it, wait till the computer recognizes the drop and slam it...

I think I didn't explain properly:
I wasn't talking about using the shifter,... just about how the speed at which I push on the accelerator affects the outcome of which gear the tranny chooses... example: if I slam on the accel as fast as possible... will it drop to 1st, versus if I just gradually push down to the floor .. will it just keep me in my current gear (say 2nd or 3rd) and just keep applying power in that gear?
In the Type S ... the location of where the pedal is .. seems to determine which gear the tranny'll choose..

Cruising at 30, coming outta a turn, do I need to smash it to drop it down to 1st, or do I just need to make contact w/ the floor?
