2k2 light conversion pics

here are some pics of the AE headlights in my 2k2
i was having a problem with the AE lights fitting, and i think i figured out the problem. the bumper on the 2002 is different. there was a notch made into it to fit the bigger xenon housing.

pics are up on my cardomain site page 2

all i gotta do is the wiring. blah.

Tim, this just dont make any sense. I know he has the right clips, but the gap is rediculous. See I dont know what it wrong at this point. I mean if the 2k2 lights are litterally larger, than technically they wouldnt fit in our cars.

Im lost.

I'm with you.. I thought -no, I was *sure* they would fit in with a tiny bit of gap.. not what I see there. Especially the bottom. If they were that much taller, doesnt seem like they would fit at all in our cars..

I think they look great minus the gap. They go awesome on a black car.

I just went out and looked.. my 2k2 lights arent even touching my 2k bumper at the bottom.. Over near the side marker, they are.. but you could probably still slide a sheet of paper in there.

makes.... no... sense..

Looks good. But what are you doing with the 2k2 HIDs? Let me know if you plan on selling them.

in the first place, i was going to save them and put them back in after a few years after HID thefts went down. i live in flushing nyc so just having peace of mind and being able to park my car comfortably was worth the swap. i WAS going to keep the lights.

BUT i got into an accident about 4 weeks ago and my left headlight was wrecked. sooooooooooooo i only have a right headlight. sad isn't it.

and yes i have NO idea why there is such a big gap either. i was just wondering. do you 2k1 and 2k maxima owners have that notch cut out of your bumper? or is it flat. thanks.

Where you see gap, I see opportunity! That's where your new Ram Air intake runners will go! J/K... I just looked at my buddies AE and I don't know why on Earth they are not working for you. What's the difference in the bumpers exactly? I'm not going to yank his and my headlights out to check...

Why did you put the AE headlights on in the first place? The 2002s look so much better.

thats just it :/ no notching, in fact, there's still alittle space under there now. the housings dont rub or anything

are you sure your accident didnt push your bumper down alittle? Thats all I can come up with. the variance on the bottom between the 2k and 2k2 looked to be like 1/8th inch at most.

I'm going to snap some pics of my 2k lights (non-AE) in my 2k3. I'm pretty sure the gap is the same as the previous pics.

My hunch is that it has to do with the position of the holes that the clips mount in. There must be some kind of variance between the 2 different designs. I'll post the pics tomorrow afternoon.

My Pics...

Here are the pics of 2k lights on my 2k3 SE

The closeups look a lot worse on a zoomed camera than in person.
