Spare key alarm retardedness!

Spare key alarm retardedness!
Okay, I go down to circuit city for my install this morning (Viper 790xv) and the guy asks for a spare key. I've talked with em several times and I never heard that I need a spare key. I only got one key with the car and spares are 100 bones. He needs the chip in the key for the remote start bypass. I understand you need that, but I was told they have them and you buy one from them for like 50 bucks during install. Needless to say I'm ****ed, but I guess I just avoided a 610 ducket alarm I probably didn't need. I can't get a spare made without the chip either, no one seems to have blanks for just the key part. Any place I could get one other than my dealer? Sorry for the rant, I was just ****ed, had to get someone to drive me and then didn't even get the alarm. Time for new wheels instead, bet I won't get hassled on that....

If I can get a spare made that doesn't have the chip in it I'd be set then, but I can't find a place with the new Nissan blanks. I suppose I saved myself 600 bucks so I should be thankful, I doubt I really need the paging anyway. Leather in Tucson summer, less fun though of course
