Let's Hear About Your Intake Setup/Experiences

I know there have been a lot of posts and discussions centering around intakes, such as the Injen CAI, PR CAI, Cattman, CAI, Franckencar, Stock, etc. As far as which intake to choose, that is really left up to personal choice because they all have their benefits. I know there has been an extensive study done by a member of the org on the performance of each intake. What I'd really like to know and I think would be very helpful, is a thread where people list which intake they have and whether or not they have had any problems, if so what they did to fix those problems, etc. The more detail the better. For instance someone may post:

2K SE 5-sp, Injen CAI, had for 6 months, blew one MAF, no problems since.

or

2K2 SE 6-sp, Franckencar intake, had for 1 year, blew 2 MAF's, put 2K MAF on car, no problems since.

As you can see, this could get very detailed based on the experiences, but I think it could be helpful for people that are looking to purchase an intake. I for one was going to purchase an injen CAI, but was afraid of the whole MAF issue. I thought this was a problem for all 5th gen. but was told that since I have a 2K I shouldn't have any MAF issues and that people with 2K2+ were using the 2K MAF and not having any more problems. I would like to confirm this information based on member's setups. Thanks in advance for your help. If this is successful enough, maybe it will posted in the stickies.

2k1 auto with berk intake and franken midpipe. used berk ru-2820, then reoiled it and use it for a few months. replaced with rr-3003 and have had no issues with maf. those are both k&n part numbers. ive had the intake for a year and a few months. those with 2k2 that used a 2k maf did still have a check engine light, some did not know it threw a light cause they already had one from the past dead maf. the 2k2 had the air temp sensor built into the maf, the 2k-2k1 had them in the stock scoop. i think that might have cause the light to stay on or turn on for some.

2k GLE Automatic, Stillen intake for a year or so, cleaned/reoild once, no problems. Just added a Frankencar Midpipe this week, no problems with the Stillen/Frankencar set-up yet, except it's too damn loud for my taste. O and the stillen mounting braket doesnt work with the midpipe on, so i have it ziptied to the braket on the strut tower. Anyone know if the Frankencar braket will work with a Stillen/Frankencar set-up?

Keep 'em coming guys. I know a lot more people have intakes than this. Plus, I know there are a lot of people out there who have had MAF problems.

2k1 manual, PR CAI, monsterflow filter. BLEW 1 MAF . Have had it in over a year, only concern is driving over a puddle and sucking up water into the engine (the pipe extends into the wheel well). Dealer replaced MAF and provided me with a ECU software update free of charge (under warranty) .So far so good.

2000 SE, K&N cone filter, blown 1 MAF, whistles during damp weather and when driving on wet roads. Anyone else link the increased whistling to damp conditions?

I still have the beginning part on the stock airbox in place and am thinking it may be venting moisture directly onto the cone filter. Anyone removed this? And what do you do with the two sensors, one connects directly to the +ve terminal on the batt. The other is labled "Boost Sensor" (why? )and goes into the wiring harness

One other thing, this morning we replaced the MAF on my '02 with a '03 MAF and reprogrammed the ECM. Has anyone had a failure with the "new" 03 model MAF? Part # on the new sensor is 28260-am600.

2K2 SE - Injen for approx 6mos, 7500 miles. The day after I put in on I got an SES light. It has been going intermittmently ever since. I would estimate that it was on for probably 25% of my driving. Sometimes it responded to gas cap re-tightening, but usually not.

I removed the Injen and reinstalled the stock set up with K&N panel on Sunday, 3/16/03. No SES light since. Knock on wood.
