1157 bulb.....

do the 1156 bulb fit instead of the 1157?

No. The 1157 i believe has 2 fillaments in it, therefor has 2 prongs on the bottom side (2 seperate hot sources) and the 1156 only has one.

Are you trying to shut off the running light in the front turn signals?
