Progress Springs + KYB AGX + Stock Wheels = Rubbing

With my stock 17" wheels back on temporarily, I noticed that it rubs whenever I turn the steering wheel all the way in one direction. I don't know the offset of my RH Evo C5s, but I think it is close to what the stock wheel is.

Anyhow, if you plan on getting this setup, it will rub with stock wheels when you turn the wheel all the way (u-turns, etc).

Yes....eventually. My center caps were chipping so I sent them back in for replacement.

Is the rubbing really bad??? I have your same set-up(not installed yet) and will be lowered with my stock wheels for the time being. I wish I had known this earlier.

Only on U-turns or whenever the wheel is turned all the way to either side is what he's stated be4.

Yeah, no rubbing before with the 18"s. It's because of the extra "bubble" from the stock tire. It's not that bad. Just when you crank the wheel all the way.

I have some very slight rubbing when I turn all the way to the left too. It is nothing serious and I just forget about it. I am running 235/45/17 on 17x8 with a 40mm offset. Someone once told me that my offset it a little off and that could be the problem. I am not ever lowered but I am fixing that this upcoming week.

Thats weird, that shouldnt rub at all. Maybe u need a 35mm offset, people here have run up t 255 w/o rubbin.

Basically the rubbing problem lies in the offset of the stock wheels it self/tire size???

40 mm offset would push the wheel out even more than the stock 45mm offset. He is also running a lower profile tire with stock suspension. That is really, really strange.

"HHHmmm..." You'd think you'd get some rubbing from plus sizing your wheels and not from OEM stock wheels??? I guess we'll see once my set-up is in.

It comes down to offset and tire/rim width. Wheel size is irrelevant unless you are running a tire that makes the overall diameter bigger.

What are your setting on the KYB's, I know many use 1 in front and 2 in the rear, but I dont really know which setting drop less, I'm curious cuz I want to buy KYB's in the next few weeks.

Cheers

The setting doesn't affect your drop. It affects ride stiffness. I use 2 in the front, 5 in the rear. A stiffer setting in the rear is a good substitute for an RSB.
