Recommended CAI

What do you guys recommend for the Maxima as far as CAI. I was leaning towards AEM or the Ooglie but really not sure what would work best for me! Need something that is also reliable and won't give me a bunch pain later on.

thanks

Injen is the preferred CAI, but WAI's have proven time and again to have more HP in the Maxima without the possibility of waterlock.

The CAI makes better low end torque, but the WAI has better top end which is the main reason it performs better. I have the Frankecar intake and love it.

i wouldnt get a cai, i'd rather get the one available from frankencar, no low end loss, great high end gains , and to top it off you dont have to cut a hole in the fender

The Injen doesn't require you to drill a whole in the fender, that is the Place Racing one. The Injen does run right by the engine though so if you don't wrap the pipe the air going trough it heats up anyways. I would just go with the Frankencar. But it is all preference I guess.

i wouldnt really consider the Injen a cold air intake because it sucks the air from behind the radiatior

They run in the wheel well right in front of the wheel. Great intakes if you are willing to drill the 3 inch hole.

so a WAI would perform better than.. let's say... a cattman CAI?

The cattman is a renamed Place Racing Intake and we are only talking about WAI's that have a midpipe. If you keep the factory resonator, then the CAI will probably outperform it.
