Unlock button on keyfob

Hi,
I just got a 2003 SE Maxima, boy this is a great car !!
And I got it under invoice price with .9 financing.
I have one question, how do set the keyfob to allow me to open all doors with just one click instead of two clicks?
I know this is a security feature but I dont care I want to get rid of it.
I found a post that said the dealership can disable it but I was wondering if anyone found another way becides that.
I'm sorry if this was asked before but I have no way of searching the forums.
thanks
Wayne

Hey Wayne,

If i remember correctly, you can just hold down the Unlock button for about 1-2 secs; the driver door will unlock, then the passenger doors. I've got a 2000 which is how i unlock doors usually. on a 2K3, i'm not sure...

cheers.

what you need to do is press the unlock button twice to open all the doors, I want to find a way so that I only need to hit the button once to open all the doors

Click twice to open all the doors. If you hold the unlock button the front two windows will roll down. (2k2 and 2k3 feature only, I believe)

I know that, its a cool feature,
I can't find anything in the manual to allow to unlock the doors with one click

looks like you're paying a visit to the dealer and have them do it... and let us know when/if you do. I think that 2-click feature is annoying, too.

imho, it is better this way.. what if you didn't want to unlock the pass. side because there was some bum or shady dude standing by the door??

most cars now a days are like this.. once for drivers, twice for passengers..

i like it..

you'd hit the unlock button with "a shady dude" standing next to your car? ... even on the passenger side?

yes, because if I didn't and I turned and walked away, a) I'd look like a wuss, and b) I'd potentially look even more shady...

paranoia will destroy'a.. you can't be afraid all the time.. just take certain precautions, like keeping a 3" switchblade in your pocket AT ALL TIMES..

Who me? ;-)

I'm 6'3" 230 and studied karate for a few years, and I'll be the first to tell you I'd rather "look like a wuss" and wait in the shop/mall than challenge a "shady dude" in a parking lot. Knife or no, only a serious fool would do that

I'm not saying I'd pull a knife on just anybody, heck I hope I never would have to pull it out, I really just have it because I find it very handy all the time..

I'm a big guy, too, but walking away from your car because there is a shady guy is just plain silly.. just take precautions and you will be aight - that's all I'm sayin..

I agree. There's no shame in living to fight another day. I studied briefly with a friend who has several black belts and was a champion in competition. I didn't get too far with the martial arts because I felt I would eventually injure my hands(I'm a professional musician). One of the first things he told me was that if you're confronted and you are able, RUN!

there was a thread on here.....that had a thread with all the things the service can do at the dealership. It were all these computer codes that the service men can change in your car by simply hooking it up to the computer. One of these things was making the doors all unlock on one click.

so basically, ask the service people to do it, and you can actually do it.
