dealings with CustomMaxima?

Hi all- I need to start modding my 2000 SE now that the snow is melting. How is this company to deal with? And how good are their products? I am thinking of the front strut bar, rear anti-sway bar and the clear corners. Possibly an intake or at least a K+N filter. Any help is appreciated

They have always been very easy to deal with, at least in my opinion. YOu may want to look around though, sometimes their prices are a litte north of good IYKWIM.

their prices on some items are really good, while on others they're ok.... one thing is for sure tho... THEY RIP YOU OFF ON SHIPPING! and their customer service sucks. if something happens to your order, they never respond.

I have placed three orders with them, and only had one minor problem. I called them, and they were very courteous to me. They corrected the problem, at no cost to me, very quickly.

Some people complain about their shipping rates, but Greg (the owner) has suggested that .org members call him if they feel that shipping is too high, and he will deal with it on a case-by-case basis.

They have always been very professional with me, and the parts I've ordered from them are top-quality. I recommend them whole-heartedly.

edit: Plus, their advertising dollars help out the .org!!!!!

I bought the LED mirrors from them, which turned out to
be a big mistake.

Upon receiving the item, I discovered that these LED shell
replacements for my side mirrors were extremely poor quality and
not worth the plastic they were made out of.
I immediately called CustomMaxima to set up my return, only to find
out that they were going to charge me 25% of my $200
item if I wanted to return it.
Yes, that works out to a $50 charge from CustomMaxima for me to
return a sheity couple pieces of plastic
that were still brand new
and in the original plastic envelopes that they were sent to me in.

$50 seems like a lot of money to be charging me when I am just trying
to return an item that I was not satisfied with.
The person I spoke with said that there was no way I could just return
the item and get my $200 back without the 25% charge.
(That's BULL S HIT.)

Thus, if you order from these people, be wary of the quality of their
items because they will not give you all your money back if you want
to return something.

The only way I could get by without loosing that 50 bucks was to order something
else that I didn't want that was near the same amount and have the small left over balance
refunded to me.

Talk about rip off...
2 thumbs down for customer satisfaction and customer service.

turbomolar: you can always return stuff and not pay. This is not specific to any company mentioned in this thread... it works for any online/phone order.

You didn't sign anything. All you have to do is box it back up, call them and tell them you're returning it, and tell them "I'm not paying a fee, and if you want to you can fight it out with my credit card company. I'm calling them as soon as we're done to challenge any charges from xxx company." Usually they'll tell you never to order from them again (but if it gets to this point, would you want to?). If they do still try to charge you, you'll fill out some forms and then they'll have to duke it out with the CC company, and they'll lose.

I bought the FSTB from them, $68. A nice piece of aluminum, very comparable to the expensive Stillen $175 and much nicer than the Ebay hollow tube for $30.00.

tube I got from ebay is not hollow and wasn't $30 (it was $24 shipped ) and functionally is just as good as either of the bars you mentioned

I completely disagree. No it's not always the case but it's also not always the case that just because it's more expensive it's "better." It's not even "usually true" that the more expensive one is a better product. It is usually true, though, that the more expensive product is more popular, but which came first, high price or popularity?

Too bad I already substituted an item and got the small difference
refunded from those crappy LED side mirror shells.

What a waste.

IMHO, CustomMaxima's prices are much too overpriced, and their
service is less than accomodating.
(...not to mention that they won't let you return something
without ripping you a new one in "restocking charges.")

My suggestion:

If you find an item you like at CustomMaxima, shop
around for it elsewhere and you will probably find a
better price and have a better service experience.

I've bought several things from them:
FSTB
RSW (ADDCO not the PROGRESS)
AE door sills
Clear Cornors
License Plate Frame

Yes the shipping is somewhat high, but this is one of the cheeper places that I found for the door sills, and they support the .Org. The only complaint that I have had is that the license plate frame has already started rusting 3 months after I bought it.

I searched and came up with these as something to do with CustomMaxima.com. These are from newest to oldest and include everything... I did not just search for good or bad comments. Hope this helps.

I purchased a rear window spoiler from Custom Maxima the first week I owned my Max, and it was shipped within 3 days. Great service. The price was kinda high, but I couldn't find any other place with one of those, and I didn't want to wait any longer.

For the last few weeks I've tried to add the Polished Key Chain to my shopping cart and it wasn't working. I emailed them and asked about it, and NEVER received an email back. Today I checked and I can finally add the key chain... but it used to be advertised for $12 and it is now $14 (!!).

You can definitely find things cheaper if you shop around. For example, the cheapest place I've found for a Stillen RSB is intensepower.com, which advertises it for only $229 (as opposed to $235 at Custom Maxima and $240 at Stillen). Custom Maxima advertises a POP Charger at $119, but I would buy it at Courtesy Nissan for $120 (Courtesy is awesome... ship instantly and you get it in about 3 days).
