Hood Scoop

I saw in a store the other day hood scoops that claimed that they would fit the 2000/2001 maxima. This made my mind begin to wonder what exactly it would look like with a hood scoop. The likelyhood is that it will look goofy, but I just don't know, I've been known to diss stuff in the past that really turned out great.

If anyone has done this and has any pictures, please let me know because I am very curious!

Yeah, that's what I thought at first too. But then I thought about the WRX and how if that car didn't have the hood scoop stock, then I'd think it would look fugly WITH it.. so I was thinking maybe someone has taken the chance of experimenting with any degree of success.

Listen bro the only reason to have a hood scoop is if you need air to get to your engine, but it seems like you dont have any mods so its like putting a Mercedes symbol on a Honda, it looks good but its not the real thing.

Putting Benz symbols all over a Hyundai looks even worse but that didn't stop one ID10T in FayetteNAM, North Carolina from doing it. Sorry, no pics... this was several years ago.

I do have a few mods:
-Enkei Shoguns and red-painted calipers
-Injen CAI
-Clear Corners
-CustomMaxima.com Front Strut Bar

And as I am saving up for now, I am going to put H&R springs, Greddy exhaust, y-pipe, stillen bodykit, and Zex kit all on in May/June.... and this coming up winter I'll be installing a supercharger.
And as for the thing concerning feeding air to the engine, I know this, but these things are also used for ornamentation (i.e. new body-style mustangs). I'm guessing since no one has posted/admitted that they have this, that no one has thought about it or done it. Anyone good with photoshop?

Actually, there is also the cooling effects of passing air OVER the engine, mods or no mods.

Very true.. the specific hood scoop that I saw in the store was somewhat universal in that it would also fit a pontiac GTP and like two other vehicles.
As far as air passage goes, I think that this particular hood scoop was merely ornamental, with no ports or holes being put in the hood during installation so as to just sit on top for looks (just like the stock mustang (excl. Mach 1 shaker hood)). If it doesn't look bad, I think it would give a good "edgy" look to our cars that is lacking.
