Steering wheel control lighting

My wife brought home a new Maxima that is pretty nice.[GLE]while test
driving it after dark I noticed that the controls on the steering wheel did
not illuminate [radio controls-cruise controls]. I also noticed that the
seat reset buttons didn't light up and that the remote mirror buttons did
not either.I asked the dealer[salesman] about this and his answer was that
they didn't light up and that you had to learn to do the adjustments by
feel. Does anyone out there know for sure if these controls light up or
not.If they don't I won't buy the car because I have two newer auto with
these features that light up just fine [01 F150- 2000 Explorer]
Maybe I'm just being picky but for that kind of money I want every thing to
work like its suppose to
Thanks for any help that your able to give

yes you are being picky.......the money you paid for that car was good money spent......i wouldn't worry about lighted controls for the side view mirrors anyway......how often do you adjust them??..as for the radio controls its not that hard to memorize what button does what....c'mon buddy its a MAXIMA.......dont hear ya complaining about the engine!

They don't light up...

..but many wish that they did. It's a small price to pay for such a good reliable car though.

And not to bash, but your Ford Explorer will probably be long dead before the Maxima starts having any serious problems. On the .Org you will see many little annoying "quirks" with the Maxima, but over all it is a very reliable car that doesn't have any major leave you on the side of the road problems. I've known many people with Fords who cannot say that.
