Please help moron with spark plugs

Hi,

There's been a lot of talk lately on here about changing spark plugs. Can you please answer these questions?

1) Do the distributor cap, wires, etc... have to be changed at the same time or can they wait?

2) What are the exact specs of the spark plug that I need?

3) Does the gap have to be the same as the OE plugs?

Thanks,
Matt

a.we have a distributor less ignition. its direct ignition.

b.&c. you can get the oem replacement ngk platniums and you dont have to gap them. a possible replacement is the cheaper coppers but you will have to replace them around every 25k. nissan says 100k before the platniums need replacing but we all know better, right? ill probably replace mine with coppers at 40k.

always check the plug gap before installing plugs. The gap should be 0.044" or 1.1 mm. I went to NGK copper plugs at 46k miles and they have been fine. Coppers need to be replaced at around 25k-30k miles vs. 40k-50k for platinums.

i was under the impression that the NGK platniums come pre gapped.

they do come pre-gapped, but after measuring the gap on them, they were all off a little bit.
