****y Paint

I have a 2000 Maxima and the paint is chipping on my hood as well as other areas. Is there even a point to call nissan?

probably not....is it out of warranty, if yes then don't bother.

Did you buy it new? did you wax the car as often as you should've?

The paint chip is a well known issue with the 5th gen. It's incredibly easy for the paint to get chips. I think Nissan also knows the issue, but just lazy to do something about it.

I have a 2000 Black Max that I bought last Sept. I baby the car and have ****ing paint chips all over the hood. It is frustrating. I don't know what to do. I guess get it painted and then get the 3M clear bra? Frustrating.

that sucks guys....my 02 altima had a ****ty paint job, I clay bared it, glazed it, waxed it....finish was still sub-par.

When I got this 03 Maxima, the paint looked better than the Altima but I guess still not the best, but for $22k, hey I'm not complaining!

Where can I get one of these clear bars while my car is still chip-free?

Click here: http://www.3m.com/us/auto_marine_aer...ist-kits.jhtml That is the suppliers list. You can install it yourself! You might be able to get it cheaper, but just do a search for 3M Clear Bra
