I don't know exactly how much i pay. I have 3 cars for 3 people:

93 Ford Mustang
91 Chevrollet Corsico
2000 Nissan Maxima

I have full, didn't spare anything, insurance on the maxima and than the cheapest coverage on both the ford and the chevy. And we pay around $900 for 6 month. Also, we live in San Francisco(for some dumb reason its more expensive) and I am only 19(that adds a lot too).

You gotta hear this.

Ok...I ultimately made the right choice but here goes. My first choice for my next car after selling my 4x4 toyota was the 2K Mustang GT 5 spd. I was quoted $90+ more for the Mustang from my insurance company over the 2K Max. I could belive the S***. Isn't the Mustang rated as a sports car and the Max as a family sedan? I kept on questioning it but said WTF and bought the Max due to the wife insistance for more room.

The insurance company excuse was: "the replacement cost for a Japanese car over an American car is much higher and this contributes to the higher insurance cost."

I'm so happy that I bought the Max. Love the ride and amenities.

laters.

I work for GEICO, and the mustang GT has the highest insurance to MSRP ratio. As a general rule all vehicles not made in america are more expensive to insure. Depending on the Horsepower to weight ratio, a car may also recieve a performance surcharge. The mustang has the highest one possible. One thing I can't figure out is that the maxima doesn't have one, but the acura 3.2 TL does...even though the max is faster. Doesn't make since, but hey, it means cheaper insurance.

By the way, My insurance is $847 for 6 months for Macon, GA.

Progressive

I'm 24 with no tickets.

Full coverage/$500 deductible.

'01 Maxima AE - $620/6 months
'92 GMC Sonoma - $192/6 months (just liability)

Total $812.
I checked insurance on a '01 Trans AM and it was maybe $50 higher than the Maxima. Surprising.

I'm hoping when I turn 25 it'll drop. Will it?

USAA

over 30/no points
$550 every 6 mo, 500 ded., 300/150/300 coverage tho.
the PF is the same and is about $450 every 6. I'm in the south.

My Grandfather was some test pilot for NASA or something, so hence USAA availability. I save about $350 per year since I switched to them.

~$1750 per year. For a 20-yr old, it's pretty good. Thank you, clean driving record.

Im basically paying another car paymet

with the amount of money I pay. I just got my DL reinstated. It was suspended for 5 yrs and all for the wrong reasons. Trust me, it's too long to post but even the insurance rep's that I speak to now all claim that it shoulda never happened. Getting back to the subject, Im paying $2,900 a yr for full coverage. I know that sounds astronomical to most but Im so lucky to get that quote. Other places wanted up to $6,700!!! So Im happy paying $2,900.

Full Coverage?

Some of the replies here used the term full coverage. That may mean different things to different people. For liability coverage, some may have $300,000 for each accident, and another only $15,000. Then there's coverage for uninsured motorists, comprehensive (with its own deductable), medical payments, car rental, etc., that one may or may not have. In other words, it's hard to compare prices here without knowing the full extent of one's policy, their driving record, age, sex, and home zip code.

i'm from OK too..

and i pay $800 a year, thats right, $800 a year (12 months). actually, i dont pay, my dad does, he bought the car for me, i'm only 18. clean driving record. the reason i got a good rate is cause the insurance co. f***ed up big time, the $800 was supposed to be for 6 months, but i think the lady my dad was talking to was new or something and she gave out the wrong rate.

USAA insurance is for past or present military personnel. If you qualify, it's the best insurance company around.
