Another Wonderful Service Experience

Since the AC blower motor has ticked or squeaked for the last year and the wind noise from the rear windows bothers me, I decided that since I have 35,500 miles on my car that I would take it in before the warranty ends. And while I was there I complained about the paint and asked them toi advance the base timing.

First off the service writer looks at my car and tells me that rock chips are considered wear and tear, but he will have the paint inspector look at it. I am not holding my breath on this one.

So, after three hours my car is "done" and he tells me that the mechanic did not hear the wind noise because the streets are wet, they can not advance the timing on my car (2001 SE) because it will just default after the ECU is reset, and they need to order the cover for the blower motor.

What did they do with my car for three hours? Look at it.

I told the guy that the timing will hold, and he just stared at me like I am from Mars or something. I also asked him if they ordered the motor and they said, no they just ordered the cover per the TSB. I will be really PO'd if I need to go back a third time for this motor. No wonder I like to do my own labor.

Sorry for the rant.

Well at least they acknowledged that the blower motor makes a ticking sound. I had my '03 max ONE week before the blower started making a sound. They(Ardmore Nissan in PA) kept my car from 7:30 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon. When I came back to get my car, the service writer told me 2 techs couldn't hear the noise. It took them NINE HOURS to come to this conclucsion? I got into my car and sure enough the noise was clearly there. I go get the service manager and bring him to my car. He tells me can't hear anything while this fu(king thing is ticking like mad! He tells me he refuses to fix it because he doesn't hear anything and that a rep from Nissan will have to take a look at it in two weeks! I said "get the fu(k out of my car you deaf motherfu(cker!" I went straight to the owner(whom I bought the car from directly) and asked him to take a listen. He immediately heard the problem and didn't bullsh!t me. The car was immediately pulled back into the repair bay and a new blower motor was installed pronto on his orders. The bullsh!t tech also gave me a very dirty look as he pulled my car back into the service bay knowing that he was actually going to have to do his job.

I'm glad the owner told me to go straight to him if I ever had a problem when I bought the car. He was the only one who was a straight shooter.
