With a color temp that high on a halogen bulb, the actual light output (lumens) will be complete crap.

If you look real close, they say 55w=85W on the pic of the box. You should be ok in using htese. You wont fry the harness or melt the wires. One thing, the light is 7500k in color, which is damn near purple.........it will look odd w/o matching headlights. Even if you got HID's the maxima is like 4300K and 6000K with the stage 2 mod. IMO it will look odd

Change the actual headlight bulbs to a rating of 6k . This will change the color of the light to a more purplish look, but will diminish the intensity of your headlights. It has ben disscused before on the Org...

The actual effect of the light being emitted will be less. The reason Audi's and Benzos, and Beemers are so bright with a higher rated bulb is because of the housing the bulbs are in, and the way the light is beamed from those headlights. If you simply slap those bulbs on a Max it wont be as strong a light as what you would see on an audi. The ballasts stay the same.

Wrong, the benzes, bimmers, and audis are all 4300k, they just use projector beams that refract the light to make it look blue. When the light itself is on the ground, its just a drop bluer than the max's HIDs. Switching to 6000k bulbs w/o a stronger ballast would kill the intensity of the lights (the blue 6000k light doesnt do such a good job of illuminating the road as white light from 4150-4300k). The only company that uses 6000k HIDs stock is porsche and possibly acura.

on misterjung.com, it says acura uses 7000k.....and yes, he's right. Everyone thinks bmw uses 6000k, they actually use 4300.
