Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning 2k2/2k3

Just to let you guys know, a while back i remember somebody posting something about reseeting the drive by wire system from an AUDI site.

Many of you weren't sure if this was correct.

Well in the ESM, i found out that this is actually true..

Per the ESM for 2k2 maxima.
DESCRIPTION
An operation to learn the fully released position of the accelerator pedal by monitoring the accelerator pedal position sensor output signal. It must be performed each time harness connector of acclerator pedal position sensor or ECM is disconnected.

OPERATION PROCEDURE
1. Make sure accelerator is fully relased
2. Turn ignition switch "ON" and wait at least 2 seconds.
3. Turn ignition switch "OFF" and wait at least 10 seconds.
4. TUrn ignition switch "ON" and wait at least 2 seconds.
5. Turn ignition switch "OFF" and waith at least 10 seconds.

Please post your results after you perform this procedure.

HOpe this helps

If you do it one more time, it will also help reset the throttle valve closed position too.

Accelerator released position is first time. The 2nd and 3rd times are for the throttle valve closed position.

OPERATION PROCEDURE
1. Make sure accelerator is fully released
2. Turn ignition switch "ON" and wait at least 2 seconds.
3. Turn ignition switch "OFF" and wait at least 10 seconds.
(Accelerator Released Position is learned)
4. Turn ignition switch "ON" and wait at least 2 seconds.
5. Turn ignition switch "OFF" and wait at least 10 seconds.
6. Turn ignition switch "ON" and wait at least 2 seconds.
7. Turn ignition switch "OFF" and wait at least 10 seconds.
(Throttle Valve Closed Position is learned)

I'm hoping it means I can make my car behave the way I drive now rather than the way I broke it in.

It trains the ECU on the actual range of the accelerator pedal range when it is in the fully unpressed position..

Basically the ECU will learn what voltage the TPS is registering when you are idling or off the throttle.

Throttle position sensor.

Basically, its just an adjustment procedure if your drive by wire system doesn't seem to be functioning correctly..

You mention in another post that you have the hesitation on your 2K3...did you try this procedure and did it do anything for the hesitation ????
