bose with subs?
bose with subs?
i read on bose's website that they do not recommend adding subs to their systems because "it throws off the sound", i mean obviously they would say this, but is it true? has anyone added subs to their bose system, id like add sumthing small for a lil extra bass, maybe 10's but im not sure?

that would have been said by now from the people that tried doin that. How do you plan to hook them up???
well im not that smart with hooking stuff up..so i would probably have the local best buy do it for me, ive had great service from them in the past, but right now im just looking to see what people have added to their bose systems for a little extra kick, im not looking to make my whole car shake

Go under electrical and selsect adding a sub or somethin like that to your stock stereo. Hope that helps. That's what other people have done and I will be doin soon.

I just finished installing my system this weekend. It consists of the Stock Bosed Deck, Frone and rear speakers. I added the following compnenets.
PAC AOEM-NIS2 (This allows you to easily add an amp and makes it sound great.)
JBL BP 300.1 Sub Amp
Kicker Comp VR 12
It sounds freaking awesome. I have had a smile on my face since I got it installed. Check out my home page for more pictures

Good luck and I highly recommend it. If you don't want something as elaborate, Get an infinity Basslink.

I have 2 RF 10s hooked to a Vibe 400w amp. Just get a speaker level converter and hook it to the rear speaker wires coming from the amp.

i think its a better idea to get a different headunit than to keep the bose...my dad's i35 has no highs when the radio is on, and while the cd's imagery is good, the bass is weak...plus my bose cd player conked out, it sucks
GET A PAC
You shouldnt just hookup a converter to the Bose system. The Bose leads run anywhere from .5 volts to 9 volts which will fry any High Pass converter or high level ins on an amp. If you have bose get a PAC. Plus the added resistance can fry the HU too. Also the Bose Sub leads is limited to the crosover freqs, with a PAC you have unlimited 20-20000hz range. Check out this site for them. They are expensive but all PNP and there will be no probs. http://www.affsave.com/pac4.htm Good luck
