Defroster takes 15 mins. or more to clear medium frost in the mornings. I wonder is this common on 5th Generation Max's. While, my Subaru Outback rear defroster SLICES - DICES - Makes Julienne fries of Ol' JAck Frost. What's the Dealio?

I dunno wassup with that. I've got a garage so I rarely have to use it. It's always seemed fast enough but its not THAT cold in Seattle. I do have to pretty much keep the front defroster on all the time or the windows start fogging. Maybe I breath too much?

I have not noticed mine being that slow. Though, I keep the car in the garage and rarely have to deal with a lot of frost.

I haven't noticed either... but I usually park under the car port. I'll pay attention the next time I don't.

The rear takes forever. The front one rocks.

I had that experience with my rear defroster too. It turns off every 15 minutes and most of the time I have press twice (Once @warmup and once more while driving off).. What I normally do now while waiting for the car to warm up is wipe it myself.

Slow defroster

I too noticed that the defroster on my 01 SE is much slower that my 93 GXE. Oh yea, what's with the lacking side mirror defroster of the 5th gen. Sure, I could have opted for the meridian package, but it was standard on my bare bones 3rd gen GXE.
