Are the INGEN intakes any good?

I'd search for this answer if i could, sorry -- i don't have access.

If someone could share their opinions with me it'd be greatly appreciated.

I tried this 'Frankencar' that everyone seems to like (and have), but no response from their sales team, are they out of business?

Thanks for any feedback!

Not sure. I have opted not to get an intake due to possible MAF issues and the fact that most show about .2 sec in the 1/4 mile and I jsut don't think that I care about that small a difference in real world driving. That and cars like Max's should be quiet...not roaring intakes.

I really like my injen intake. I feels like it smoothed out the power a little. If it "added" anything I can't feel it but that's not why I bought it... I wanted the sound ! It's nearly stock at low rpm (under 3500) but sounds nice after that. It is also very good quality construction.

Appreciate the feedback.

Has your 'butt dyno' experienced a slight loss in low-end tq since you don't have the exhaust mods to go along with your intake?

btw: does $208 for the injen intake sound about right?

"butt dyno" can't feel any difference and anyone who says they can is lying. It woudl be impossible to "feel" a loss of 1% or 2% of the torque or HP (IMO).

$208 is an excellent price if that includes shipping, still pretty good if it doesn't.

Check here, too.

edit: but if you're patient you can get a used one in the for sale forum here for much less (like I did )http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=202191

Dyno Proven Frankin Intake produce more "performance results" but its also proven that Injen produce more "Sound Appeal" and "Visual Appeal"

I like how Injen produces a "Hissing Sound" While accelerating and growl at high RPM.

Visually, People have been giving me how nice it looks, so I recommanded.

But Again, I am not a "Racer" and don't go to track, if you care mostly for HP, go with FrankinCar Intake.

The Injen definitely does look the best, but is not the best when it comes to hp gains. If that is what you're looking for, go with the Frankencar or do the ghetto air box.

I have the injin on my 2k I like it , however i don't like how lo into the engine it goes i am petrified of hydro-lock, but theres no room for a bypass valve. go to frankencar.com and go to contacts (There cell #'s are right there!) they will get back to you there just slow also check out the JWT (jim wolf technologies)
