Did you expect to have a chance? I know my limits and a TA is out of my limit.

I had a '97 Ram Air
And other than the looks and power it was a big piece of crap. Uncomfortable ride, could barely see over the hood, jumped every time you hit a bump, and TONS of mechanical problems.
Don't get me wrong, it is fast but not reliable at all. I am much happier with my Max than I ever was with the T/A. I do miss the rear wheel drive so hopefully that M3 is in my future

True it is fun to instigate some1 with a faster car into a race, Ive done it several times just for fun to see how fast the car is. Sometimes ive even beat a car I totally dont expect to, kinda get a kick out of it. The goten a driver behind the wheel or a viper to race be4, yeah I got my @ss handed to me, but I knew I would fun. There are some bloodthirsty cars in Phx to my surprize, the worst one I think was when I raced the OSOFAST eclipse. If any1 keeps track of import drags then u know this car. That car runs low 9's last I remember (this happend like 1.5-2yrs ago) That was the loudest damn BOV ive ever heard in my life, the Turbo didnt even sound like a turbo spool. I cant descirbe the sound it was niiiice though (btw I couldnt even see him in like 4 seconds, I just stood at 80mph with my jaw hanging, and started looking for binoculars
)
)
Suprised he passed you THAT bad. Oh well it was all in good fun. I wonder if it'd have been much closer with an 02/03 max 6 speed? Maybe shrink the loss by half?
You have a Gixxer 1K? If so I bet nobody in a car would even try and play with you? I own a Busa, and have only had a few try. Had a highly modded WRX try and play once.....once. Not even close after the first 20'

The faster you are going when you initiate the race the worse you will get raped. My Camaro pulls extremely well in 4th gear!
Other than that, they are not even remotely on par with the build quality of the Maxima. The solid rear axle causes it to be very unsettled on bumpy corners as was stated.
Boy I need a Z06!

Have u guys seen the vid clips on www.racingflix.com there is one were a gixxer 1K tires to play with a turbo trans am (not the old 1) The GSX1K got owned from 70-140 roll by 2-3cars. Pretty damn fast for a car, and there was also a Linengleter 427TT trying his hand at a Hayabusa and im sure u know what the ourcome of that was. Those are just rare cases u say, yeah I know and ur right and still 99.9% of the cars or anything on the road is ur b!tch when ur on a bike with more then 1Kcc's. But there are those few out there who will still gladley hand a hayabusa its @ss. I just wish I had 1 of those...

Also, I find it humorous how all these cars want to race motorcycles only at certain speed ranges. Its like a Maxima owner saying: "I'll race a Trans Am from a roll on at 22-35 mph".

I was way ahead of him for about 1 mile or so, then I got off the exit he flew past me. This was my first time pushing the car...wow...
I am of the opinion that a car is only as good as the driver. Yeah an S4 is quick, but the guy looked young, not that I am not young (25 myself) but he looked maybe 18-21.
I consider myself a great driver with 7 years experience, and very skilled at racing so I dunno....I think I had the advantage on him driving skill wise

By the way, what's being skilled in racing when using auto? Not flaming, just curious what that means.

Wow amazing that you pulled on him. I figured it would be much closer with an 02/03 6 speed. I know the V8 will still win but we can give him a run for his $
Oh and about this:
I'll just turbo the Busa then and get 300+ hp.
Actually have a track day this Thursday so we'll see how she does.
Oh and about this:
how about if i install the the turbo kit i'm thinking of ordering for my gsxr1000. 220+ rwhp........!

Man, finally a racing thread that tells the truth......
American cars not reliable=myth
Take care of your car, and it will take care of you. My "Japanese" Maxima runs 14's and has a nice bright SES lite for a bunk o2. My 12 sec Mustang always starts, gets me to work every day, has A/c, and has NEVER let me down, passes emmisions, and has no SES light on, original o2's, 3years worth of nitrous run through them.
Open your minds guys.

lol don't feel so bad
I once lost to a BMW m5 with dual exhausts...I beat a prelude type sh today tho..That's a pretty big deal for me because that was the first car I ever saw souped up (this was in 97) and it was the only car I wanted...Phew glad I didn't get it...Oh yah and a toyota altezza..I never raced one b4 either....

1) Exhaust rattle
2) Rear passenger shock bushing rattle
3) Gas smell
4) Passenger mirror rattle
5) Driver seat adjuster broken
6) Slow when lowering windows
7) Computer died
8) Alternator blew
9) Battery died
This was all before 13,000 miles!!! I changed the oil every 1,000 miles but didn't even hit a service interval so what else could I have done?

I have had a few minor annoyances with my Max, but nothing like the T/A. I also had a Durango that left me stranded 4 times and I had to take it to 2 different dealers to finally get it fixed. Oh, I also had the oil pump blow on it.
I will NEVER buy an American car again.

Crank up the boost to 20psi and get over 1000rwhp. The hp to weight ratio the the wheels is still gonna be pretty much even, the 1 with the longer top gear is gonna go faster obviously. In either case neither 1 is gonna get any traction, the 427TT with 345 tires at 10psi still cant use gear 1,2,3, and some of 4th. In any case the gsx turbo or the 427TT ur gonna be dead in a week topps anyway so whats the point? This whole speed thing between cycles and cars can go on 4 ever, but like I said ans as u already know 99% of the cars or anything on the road is ur b!tch. Bikes are quick but not fast, what I mean by that is they will run up to say 150-ish pretty quick (depends on the bike) and just coast on up after that also the speed shake doesnt help much the R1 I think starts to shake around 170ish I know a busa is a diff story though ive seen a top speed run on 1 goin over 220.

My parents have owned many American cars. All of them were fairly unreliable except one.
My old 91 Camry never left me stranded, had AC that always worked, ALWAYS passed emissions tests, pretty sure was on the original O2 sensor (I never changed it), and didn't have have the check engine light come on until it was >9 years old. I only had 91.5K miles on it when I sold it at the beginning of 2002. Sure, it had a few probs here and there, but nothing too major.

I take it pretty easy but its hard to hold back on this car...especially since I just installed the Stillen intake....
the car just wants to move, so I let it.....I don't want to make the car sad now, do I?
