Strut / spring info...

...I was looking through the faqs and could not find a comparison of the combinations of springs & struts available and their corresponding drops, ride comforts, and handling. Can anyone who can search help me out with this one?

Thanks!

Thanks. Do you know which combo will give a better ride with being close to stock (ie: not too rough)? Oh, and what the drop on the springs would be?

Everyone who has the H&R/Tokico Blue combo has said the ride feels very close to stock. I wouldn't know because mine are in the extra bedroom waiting for me to have time to put them on.

you just described Maxspeed springs, but 'subtle' is about 1.5 inches.

These are an even drop all the way around? What springs will give you a greater drop in the front so it will be even?

You do not want to use stock struts with aftermarket springs.

Go w/ H&R, I had eibach's and switched over to H&R b/c the ride was too harsh. Now it feels perfect. IMO, the drop makes the car look like it should have off the showroom floor.

Tokico Blues are the only struts designed for 5th gens. The KYB's have to be modified. I too have Tokico's with H & R. This combo provides a smooth ride and a nice drop.

I was looking for the perfect spring set up for a subtle drop without the ride harshness, so this is great info. But T-Bone, you said we shouldn't use stock struts with aftermarket springs, right? Why is that? Is it the lack of dampening in the stock struts?
