Use the search...

If you consider doing this, be forewarned... you have to drop the tranny to install the TC. That means... $$$

Im looking into this right now with ProTorque
The TC itself is a little over 300 and Im going to get it put in by Level10

they said I should expect about a gain of about 3 quarters with it

.2 with VB
.75 with TC

Gain of about 1 second with transmission work....can you say...WHOA

Im still deciding on the stall though...then im gonna whoop on some 5 speeds...that is until i run out of gears..

run out of gears?

So I take it an upgraded TC would tear through my tranny quicker?

An upgraded TC will have a higher stall speed so you can launch at higher rpms. Also, you probably end up losing less hp through the drivetrain with a stronger TC.

Level 10 is making torque converters for the new Accord V6. One guy is running thier converter in this 2000 Coupe and pulled off a 15.1@91mph which is really good for the V6 Accord. He went from a 15.4@89 to a 15.1@91 with the same 60 foots. The converter is $600 plus install. A higher stall converter will give better drivabilty IF you buy a high quality high stall converter.

I think a torque converter and valvebody ungrade are by far the best bang for the buck mods out there for any automatic car. I don't think you'll see a 1 second improvement unless you are running drag radials and flash stall the heck out of the converter on launch. On street tires, I think that a .5 improvement is not out of the question. There aren't many mods out there that make that kind of difference.
