Rev Limiter

Does anyone know where the rev limiter is on the 2000 auto SE and does it really protect your engine from blowing up?

something like 6650. yeah it protects your engine from red lining unless you want to put it in neutral and have a twirl.

I don't think it can protect you if you're going 100 MPH and throw it into second.

No it doesn't but your tranny protects it and the tranny along with it if you attempt throwing it in second at 100 MPH. It just won't go. Go ahead and try it,

Are you sure about that? If the technology exists to prevent going into too low a gear at too high a speed, why wasn't it on the Acura RSX or Celica GTS which were known for people accidently shifting into second instead of fourth at too high a speed?

i think hes being sarcastic. i think the question was about an auto though, if someone cant get shifting down on that then they need some help. you can downshift to 2nd at 100 if you want, youll just screw your tranny and hit the rev limiter as many times as it takes til the rpms drop.
