Parking Brake Light!!!

Every time i crank up my car my parking brake light stays on and i dont even use it! I know my pads need to be replaced, could that be the problem? Also when it is on I can hit the brakes had and it goes off, only to come back on a min later.... What could be the problem, any help appreciated guys, thanks.

The light could indicate the brake pads telling you that there worn out.

Or it could be that the switch is faulty and is stuck. I don't really know, go check with nissan and tell us what they say.

the idiots at north park nissan couldnt tell me ne thing but im gonna check at 2 more dealers when i can. Im thinking the same as you the pads are probly gone. But i didnt notice that, by looking at them from the side when I installed my struts and springs sunday. hmmmm

I brought mine back to the dealer a couple months ago for the parking brake light staying on. They said it's extremely worn brake pads. A free brake job and all is good

Ive got 96k on my car shes well out of warenty, but those lifetime pads from autozone

more than likly ill go to autozone this weekend and get my 3rd set of pads from them.

I've read in the manual that the light might stay on if there is a bulb that is blown out.

If your parking brake light stays on that usually means your brake fluid is low, which also could mean it's time for new pads.

kpark is right man, that is why it goes on and off when you hit the breaks because you are moving the fluid around to hit the correct level and then it drops again

ok i know i need to check my pads saturday, do i need to check my fluid too. Also do i just add more fluid to it?
