I want M3 Seats!!!!!!

So I just went to lunch with my boss's boss. As wee were walking through the parking lot I thought to myself, "We should have taken my Maxima. This is going to suck."

Then I see the tail lights flash on a brand new M3, silver, black leather interior.

The seats in that thing were awesome. The leather was thick. The seats were so deeply bucketed it would have taken more lateral G's than the car was able to produce in order to make me slide around.

I want seats like that!!!

Does anyone know where/how to get that kind of setup?

I don't want a racing seat that looks like it came out of a riced-out Integra... I want something like looks like a nice, high-end, leather-clad M3.

I was planning on getting leather from leatherseats.com, but before I do that I would really like to get something with more lateral support.

Any thoughts? Muchas gracias!!!

yeah I got thoughts for you........its going to cost an arm and a leg to buy good quality Corbeau, Recaro or any other branded racing seat in leather or suede or whatever..

I think cheaper racing seats can run $600 a piece

Does anyone know of any options for adding lateral support pads in the hip and rib sections of our stock seats?

theres nothing you can "add" to any seat...nothing would fit..the stock covers are form fitting around the seat...there's no extra room

i'm planning on removing stock covers and installing leather anyway. i would be willing to pay a bit more for a non-standard cut to accomodate any improvements in support...

i think i'm going to write to the guy at leatherseats.com to see if they have ever done anything like that before.

it's not just a cloth issue... it's lateral support _and_ leather all in one package... gonna have to think this one over... i didn't really understand the whole leather thing until i had a kid... a 3 year old boy can do far more damage to cloth than he can leather (puke, milk, juice, spit, food, etc.)....

leather is great, and with the group deal going on right now, you can get a complete leather interior for about $600.

i just really wanted some seats with more lateral support than nissan thought we needed. go for a ride in a new M3. you will see what i'm talking about.

dude....dont equate an M3 with a Maxima..an M3 is $55k...a Maxima at most is $30k...

you've got double the money, of course stuff's gonna be different

I am not equating an M3 with a Maxima. I paid $11k for my 2k max. Our VP paid $42k for his (slightly used) M3. But there is an obvious parallel between the two (or between the max and a 5-series) in that they are both performance sedans. I am sure a lot of people here would prefer an M3 sedan or a 540 if their budgets allowed it.

Deeper buckets wouldn't have cost Nissan anything. But that is not my point.

I have an improvement I want to make to my car. 95% of the people in this forum are here because they like their cars and they want to make them better.

Sport seats are great for aggressive driving because they keep you stuck in one place so you don't slide around.

Leather seats are great because they look awesome, they smell good, they are easy to clean, and it's great for making your chick (or dude if that's what you're into) feel pampered with that luxury feel.

So with $2k of performance mod's and another $1500 for leather corbeau's and some other cosmetic mod's, I can have a sweet *** car for about $14,500. It still won't be an M3, but it will out run, out handle, and be more comfortable than anything at twice that cost.

In any event, I'm really not sure what you are getting at.

I will have to agree with that the M3 seats are sooooo nice....
drove my friend's M3 the other day... I was making a curve at about 80 mph, usually I can take it up to about 60 in my max. The seats just hold you in so nicely... but like other says.. BIG price difference.

M3 = hand grenades. At last count, sumting

like 400 M3's hand grenaded because of ill-fitted rod bearings...I would not touch a used E46 M3 unless it was a CPO car with 100k mile warranty..

I started to dislike my seats after riding in the g35 coupe. Don't know what the M3 is like but I'm sure they're nice. There was a thread like this a while ago. I think everyone came to the conclusion that seats are just too damn expensive.
