exhaust question

ok my question is how can i get the 350z exhaust sound. i love it because it sound very sporty. i have never heard any of the performance exhaust system for our cars does it sound like this???

also would i be weird or stupid to have a WarpSpeed

performance b pipe and performance y pipe while using the stock exhaust??? will there be any gain???

thanks

hey,

I have the warpspeed Y and B. Honestly ... I wish I never did that, the removed resonator on the b adds a bit of a growl noticed at lower rpms especially, but the power doesn't seem to be different, not by much. I am thinking off the line it feels somewhat quicker but when im driving hard it seems to do nothing. I have a feeling switching the muffler will make a bigger difference, but it will also sound really loud. The advantage to doing what I did (and alot of others apparantly) is keeping an entirely stock look or keeping the noise level down. Getting the pipe without the resonator doesn't make it much louder, but some people on here say that on top of the rice muffler will make it loud as hell. Hope that helps,
mg

depending on what you would spend, supposedly headers are going to come out soon, with those you won't need the y-pipe. Would cost considerably more, but if you want to up the exhaust system, do it proper.... The Y/B setup to me was not worth the cash, in my honest opinion. Talk to someone who has dont the warpspeed Y with an aftermarket catback system such as cattman and see how they feel... My opinion is to save your cash for headers.

I can't speak for 2K2 or 2K3 3.5L Maximas. But there will most certainly be a gain on 2K/2K1 3.0L Maximas, particularly above 3,000 rpm.

oh yea i forgot to say, i got the aluminized parts and they cost me like 325 plus shipping. Also I have a 6 speed and they didn't make this pipe at the right angle, i'm expecting a replacement in the mail as soon as its ready.
Consider that too when u order...

PM blubyu2k2. His 2k2 also has the Y-pipe / B-pipe combo on a stock muffler.

Ive had that setup be4 on my car which btw is an 01 and I can say the stock muffler isnt too restrictive at all. When you change the muffler on a N/A max its just a cosmetic mod and serves no real performace purpose. Ive had the y-pipe with and w/o the resonator in the b-pipe and I say keep the resonator even with the stock muffler. Its a bit deeper w/o the resonator but when go wot off the line it made a nasty @ss grinding noise which disappeared once I got the cattman b-pipe. I now have a magnaflow but that will change soon.

hey, so is the concensus that most of you got the b pipe with the resonator? I noticed some weird grinding ish when going in reverse a few times... it annoyed me. I did remove the brackets for the 2 brackets for time time being, until i recieve the new y pipe for 2k2 6 speed from warp speed.
