How much should my buddy pay for an 03 6-spd??

I located an 03 6-speed in my area for my buddy to purchase. It has an MSRP of 27,355 which includes destination. I guess they currently have a $2000 dealer incentive as well... What is a fair price for this car?? I bought my 6-spd a year ago for about $500 under invoice.

Re: How much should my buddy pay for an 03 6-spd??

I recently got $4000 off list + 1.9 % financing for 5yrs.

I have seen advertised as low as $5500 off list.

I got $4776 off msrp & 1.9% for 5 years on my '03 SE auto w/moonroof (only option-msrp was $27176).

Your friend may have a problem finding other dealers with a 6spd though if this one is unwilling to deal.

about $2-3K below invoice. go to edmunds.com and check out the invoice for the car with your particular options. DO NOT rely on the dealer to give you the correct invoice. they like to lie about it. if anything find out the invoice, then to check to see if he is truthful- ask to see the invoice and compare.

ONLY talk to the Internet/Fleet manager. email and call him before you go to the dealership and set a price.

www.carbuyingtips.com is also a good resource

good luck

In a way yes, it is not the bottom line net cost a dealer pays for the car.

I'm not looking for "in a way yes" ??? why is invoice a made up price?

i know of holdback, dealer prep, etc. then there are also dealer incentives to hit certain sales figures. but what are you going to do?????

you can only go so far before you are being a complete a**hole in negotiating. every dealer i speak to say 300-500 above invoice is fair. i say invoice is fair minus any rebates, etc. let them have the holdback (unless you are buying a pig of a car- american)

does the invoice remark intend... these figures are fake, and are released by auto manufac to trick the public??? if Quick has any info about that i'd be interested.
