read-end collision in boston - bumpers work EXCELLENT!

I was stopped on Storrow Dr. and looked in my rearview and saw a jeep skidding at me, the he cut the wheel and barely missed (I was stopped in traffic, left lane was empty). The next guy didn't see me until too late and hit me.

He was going about 15-20mph when he hit me. My insurance guy was a little surprised my airbags didn't go off, but I was also rolling forward a little with my foot off the brake. It was weird... I actually had time to look in the mirror, think "he's going to hit me" and take my foot off the brake and put my head back on the headrest. I always leave room in front when stopped in traffic like that so there was probably 10 feet to the car in front of me and I used it all. I didn't hit the car in front, though.

So, about 15-20mph hit from the rear and it's $518 to replace the bumper (his insurance, of course). I'd say that's not bad for 15-20mph.

yeah the back bumper is really good. i had someone hit me at about 5 mph and not a scratch. i know were supposed to have 5 mph bumpers but to see it actually do its job was nice.
