Someone please explain this to me

Im stopped at a red light in my 03 max Se, and all of a sudden this new civic pulls up with this huge wing (for downforce). Why would you need downforce on a front wheel drive car? I see this all the time on hondas. It cant be for looks cause its just plain nasty. Does anyone know? Sorry if this is alittle off topic, but i just gotta find out why they do this.

Its a rice mobile. W/o proper aerodynamic configuration, the wing doesn't do much. I'm sure they had a loud exhaust too.

It's one of the few "bolt ons" that can quickly classify you as a ricer.. err I mean racer.. ;-)

clearly they don't know anything about aerodynamics or traction.. just rev on them, dust them when it turns green, and hope that someday the "fad" will be over.. someday soon..

1. Clown boy in the Civic doesn't need a wing
2. Someone who's ACTUALLY racing can benefit from a wing even if it's a FWD car. Having the rear end get light at speed in a corner can be a little too entertaining... Downforce = good
