Auto tranny question...

I never paid attention to it but sometimes mine does that too but no problem so cant complain. Try this next time your driving (I dont know if the 2k2-3 does this) going 40mph turn the overdrive off and casually accelerate up to 60mph and keep an eye on the rpm guage. On mine around I think it was 2800rpms it drops back down like 500-600rpms and continues as normal after that. I know the torque converter is the one causing it to do that, nothing is wrong but just wondering if the 3.5's do that as well.

I have a 2000 SE and my automatic transmission exhibits these same exact symptoms. It's called slippage.
Here's the TSB for 2000s: http://www.punkdork.net/max/tsb039a.pdf
I don't know if there's one for 2k2s? Try searching.

My dealer did this for me and I provided the Mobil1 ATF. My dealer used about 13 qts for a complete tranny flush. I don't remember what it cost, but he deducted the cost of the ATF from their standard charge for a tranny flush since I brought my own.
