Anybody successfully reset their SES light on 2k2 with an OBD II?
Wanted to know if anyone on the forum has successfully reset their SES light (without dealer intervention) on a 2k2 or 2k3 with an OBD II device. If so, please share. Thanks.

Yes. I do it all the time. My SES light comes on about every 3 weeks due to condensation on my rear O2 sensor. I have an Actron CP9135. http://www.actron.com/cgi-bin/web_st...5.htm&cart_id=

This tool will not allow you to change any settings like the Consult-II will. It will allow you to reset the SES light. It will NOT allow you to reset the Airbag light. If you are a 2002-2003 with the Airbag light on, PM me.

The SES goes off for a reason. Go to Autozone or a dealer to find out what that reason is.

The SES light is one because I installed the Apexi SAFC II on my car. Same thing happened to SR20DE's car. I just bought an OBC II device and software this week to read / reset codes and for tuning purposes. The reason I asked is because someone told me that one couldn't reset the SES light on a 2k2. Had to get a second opinion.

You can turn off the light and reset codes. But I believe the snap shot of the code is still stored for a period of time. Most garage scanners (with the right adapter card) and obdII software that I know of will reset the code though. Otherwise you would have to go to the dealer for EVERY SES light and thats not legal.

The scanner that I posted actually removes both copies of the incident. Every time I throw the SES light, there are 2 codes to erase. The first incident is the stored code, and the second incident is what illuminated the SES light. When I choose to "erase" the codes, it asks me to erase both codes. Once I've erased the codes, I scan the ECU again to verify that no codes still exist.
