2K2 Clutch TSB

Search is broken...

I am going to have the clutch TSB done next week. Would you guys recommend switching to synthetic?

What would be the best brand? How many quarts?

I know this is a stupid question so don't laugh , but is the tranny fluid the same as the gear fluid?

thanks

I recommend sticking with a dino based 75-90 GL-4. Nissan also has a TSB out for a 75-85 dino that the techs are supposed to use in our tranny's. I was griding synchros with Amsoil in cold weather. Some people claim Redline is good, I don't know. My stick feels MUCH better with dino than Amsoil.

Yes it is.

Not going to sell your car? I wound up buying a 2002 SE 6 speed locally. So far so good. What are your symptomson the clutch? Does it chatter once in a while upon engagement?

When about to engage it sounds like a howl, a good example is, when you leave your e brake on and start driving and you hear a howling sound. I am taking it in next week to have it fixed.

When you drive your car next, try listening for it. keep your radio off and your windows closed. Sometimes it is a very low sound & sometimes you can feel it.

It is now starting to jerk alot on take off.. I also started to notice that shifting from 2nd to 3rd sometimes grinds.

My clutch howls like crazy. How many miles do you have on your car? I have 30K, hopefully I can still get it fixed under warranty...BTW, here is the TSB:

I got it at my local Jiffy Lube about 4 months ago. The keep it in stock for manual tranny Mitsubishi's. I guess they had some problems using GL-5 in the Mitsu's and now stock the correct GL-4. Also, Nissan now has a TSB out for the 6spd's and they recommend a specific Nissan part number with a 75-85 GL-4. Your Nissan dealer should be able to get the stuff.
