SE:
- Firmer 'sports-tuned' suspension
- Smoked tail lights
- Body-colored door handles
- No chrome finish around the front grille
- Can come with a 5-speed manual transmission
- Titanium/white faced gauges
- 00/01 SEs came standard with 16" 5-spoke wheels; 17" wheels were optional
GLE:
- Bouncier, more dampened suspension
- Red tail lights (like the GXE)
- Chrome door handles
- Chrome finish around the front grille
- 4-speed automatic transmission only
- 00/01 GLEs came standard with 16" 5-spoke wheels; 17" wheels were optional
Both cars have the same buttery smooth V6, giving you 222HP. I'd take the SE over the GLE since I'd rather have a bit more sport over a bit more luxury.
Either car is a good one, however. Good luck. Peace.

Those cars are priced Way too high. First of all the SE doesn't even have leather. I bought my 00 max se last year with 15k on it for $18K. It is black with leather, meridian, loaded, + extended warranty. I would go with the SE because I think the spoiler really compliments the car. Also the smoked tail lights. I added a wood dash kit to my SE that looks awesome as well.
