new belt and transmission

I had to go to the dealership today to get new belts put on. I lost the one that runs the alternator and AC last night. I heard a bang and stopped right away. I opened the hood and there were parts of it all over. Thankfully the battery didnt die before I caould get it to the dealership.
Well I wanted them to look at my tranny problem. It is an auto and 2nd does not work. 1st and drive work just fine. It sucks not being able to shift from 1st to 2nd when I'm trying to race people. By the way I did not mess it up by doing this. It was like that when I bought it. Well they looked at in and said they couldnt fix it. They ordered a new tranny for it!! And it will be covered by the powertrain warranty. SWEET!! I just wish it was easier to just put a 5 speed in there instead!!!

congrats~ I doubt it is a brand new tranny though...prob a rebuild and make sure the dealer will replace your solenoid or TCM according to the TSB.

5spd swap will be harder.....

I told the dealership about my problem. They ran diagnostics and they didnt see anything wrong. I told them to drive it and they would see what I was talking about. They guy that was working on it drove it while I rode with him. He said "what the hell second wont work". Then he asked the other people if they had seen the problem. The head mechanic drove it and said "you need a new transmission". I asked if it would be covered by the powertrain warranty and he said yes. They ordered me a new one and will call me when it comes in. They said it would take a few days to put in and that they would give me a rental (not happy about that).

Man...quit complaining about the rental. Be thankful you get one. I have heard stories of some people not even getting a free rental.
