I just bought replacement K&N filter, but wrong instructions were in box. Where exactly do the two foam strips go? I managed to get filter installed without them, but it was difficult(filter would not stay in place).

I think they are for the sides or your airbox where the filter seats. But I am not for sure....

 

The filter is supposed to sit on it (the edges of the filter) to create a perfect seal but is not 100% necessary. I dont think it is anyway.

 

I'm in school right now but when I get home i'll post the pic on where the strips go. They go on the smooth part inside the regtangle filter holder. You put them on the long part not the short.
