Coilovers

Does anyone here have these coil overs? Do they drop nice and does the car ride smooth?

Im planning on purchasing these with a set of tokico shocks.

Thanks in advance.

I keep wondering why GC calls these "coilovers". Yeah, technically the spring "coils" go "over" the shock body but these really aren't a matched set of coilovers (springs and struts). They do work for what they are intended for, to provide an adjustable ride height by moving the spring perch up or down. The springs are good quality Eibachs but you still use either the OEM struts or an aftermarket strut. The few folks I know that have them installed, generally like them but after a while, don't bother moving them up or down. They usually settle on one position and leave them there. IMO you'd be better off $ wise and performance wise with a set of good replacement springs. If you have money to burn, get a set of "coilovers".

Yeah, I've been looking for something like those. I need an adjustable ride height because my driveway has a big curb. How do you adjust them? Do you just take a wrench and loosen/tight something?

These look good.

you need to lift or jack up the corner you want to adjust to get the weight of the spring for easy adjustment

Then you need air ride...it takes a few min to adjust any coilover.

whats nice about the GCs is that you can order them in any spring rate you want. On the Max, you have numerous springs to choose from, but I am totally biased towards the Teins. They are in my living room right now. But, if you plan to race your max on the track, the GCs are a good budget coilover setup. JICs or the Teins coilovers are over $1200, where the GCs with say AGX shocks can be had for less the $800.

oh, and dont buy tocrapos
