Black Trim Care

When cleaning and waxing my car, I noticed that often the black trim will become discolored if I get wax on it. The worst area for this problem is the trim around the sunroof wind guard, but the place where the side mirrors attach have this problem as well. Same with the mudflaps.

What do you do to care for these pieces of trim? I am sure someone has asked this question at some point but I cannot search.

I wipe the wax off of the area and apply a little bit of the same stuff used to make your tires shine (like Eagle One)... works every time.

I also use this on the nose mask/bra as well...

I found some stuff at Pep Boys, Back to Black, don't remember the brand. Found several similar when searched google just now. If you can't find one I'll check the brand name when I get home.

The Meguiars stuff is not called back to black. I have used both Mother's Back to Black and the Meguiars stuff. Both work equally well. I would recommend either one. Make sure you put in on a cool surface though. Not after your car has been baking in the sun.

I have tried a bunch of products out there and the two that work the best for a lasting deep black wet look IMHO are "Black Chrome Cleaner" forget the maker at the moment and regular old black shoe polish.
