reset ECU with K&N filter
I'm glad to hear you are trying out the K&N.
However, it seems that the postings possibly seem to indicate that you have a greater chance of fouling the MFM (mass flow meter) with a oil-impregnated air filter.
Is this true? Will a K&N foul the MFM faster? Is it covered under the warranty?
thanks
Vic

I have had one of the K&N drop in's for over 20K miles and already serviced it once. Not a single problem and no ECU reset.
The single biggest issue with 'oiled filters' is overoiling them. I cleaned the filter element with the 'recharge kit' and then put just enough oil back on it to lightly color the pleats (basically the insstructions on the bottle). The thing I like to do is use a clean towel and lay the filter on the towel for a few hours to 'leach' off any excess oil, then wipe the frame of the filter to remove any other excess.

About the ECU, I don't think you really have to reset it. If you do, it wouldn't hurt anything.
