What are the symptoms of a coil going bad? My fuel mileage has dropped about 2 mpg (from ~24 to ~22), and my "butt-dyno" feels like there is less response. No SES light. Car is a 2000 SE 5spd, with 43000 miles.

By the way, anybody had any luck getting the coils replaced under the 5/60 powertrain warranty?

Had a similar problem with my 99 a couple years back. If your check engine light is on sometimes and flashes others and sometimes reads different problems when put on a code reader you may need to have your computer regrounded. For some reason the computer ground is not very stable and leads to the computer coming up with weird problems, in particular the bad coil error code.
