Intake question, help!
I opened the engine bay today, and i saw the scoop that was connected to the stock airbox there, i left it and never botherd to take it off after i installed the intake back in the summer.
so today , i was like ,i'll just take it out, it will make it a nicer look and what do i need that piece of plastic there hanging around.
there was a sensor connected to it(not the MAF, the one connected to the scoop) so i shut the engine off, took off the sensor(didnt disconnect the battery) and took the scoop off...turned on the engine, everything was fine. went home to wash hands, i come back , start the car up and i see the Service Engine soon light turned on....i was like awww man.
any suggestions what to do?
i disconnceted the battery in the meantime

Reset your ECU with the sensor in.
Reset your ECU with the sensor in.
i dont want the scoop there, and i saw some people without it
so isnt it better to reset it with the sensor disconnected?

does it matter if the sensor is in the scoop or out?

I posted this same question a few days ago, and nobody had an answer. I had hoped someone with a JWT filter would know what to do with the sensor, as it is just hanging in the breeze then.

since you dont have a midpipe, you should zippie the sensor as close to the filter as you can. i would do that and disconnect the battery overnight. the sensor does not have to be in the stock scoop. you can have it zip tied or when people get midpipes, there is a hole located in the midpipe.
