Need outside opinions please

I'm thinking of trading my maxima in for a new 2k3 Lightning. I went in to the Ford dealership today and they offered me $16k for my maxima (check homepage for pics of custom sound, ect. work). This means the total cash I would need to pay/finance will be $18k. I was planning on putting $8k down and financing the $10k at four hundred and something a month for 24 months. Does this sound worth it to anyone? The 3 main cons of getting the truck are: no back seat, gas, and no more maxima ;( BUT the 3 main pros are: faster, I'll be able to pull my boat, and SVT service.

I have heard that there are numerous problems with the new Ford Trucks, SVT or otherwise. On the other hand, those new Lightnings/Harley Davidson edition trucks are ridiculously sick. Good luck with the decision.

Keep your Max for every day driving- You will MISS it!!! Get a used truck that will handle you hauling needs. I almost got rid of my 2k2 SE when I got my truck. What mistake that would have been. Handling of any truck sucks and gets boring to drive very quickly. Plus the gas is ridiculous! And the Max is as reliable as they come.

I've been thinking about it a lot and I think you're right. I'm more of a car person anyways. It would be a waste to spend another $18k onn a truck when it hasn't been 2 years since I spent around4@%k on my max.
Thanks for the replies

When a 4800lb truck can do the 1/4 in 12.1, it is definitely sickening, wicked fast. When you can embarrass the h*ll out of any stock Viper or Corvette, it is amazingly beautiful.

But... yes... you will need a gas truck to follow you as you get 8 to 10 mpg.

Ford.... Hmmmmm.
