Anyone have any idea who will take the checkered flag between a 5th gen or 6th gen. 0-60 and the 1/4 mile.

-SE Automatic 4spd vs. SE Tiptronic Auto 5spd

-SE 6spd vs. SE 6spd

04 has "more hp" but is a little heavier... it's going to be a driver's race the whole way.... I'd bet on the driver, not the car.

And HP does not matter as much as aero dynamics.

agreed, but I was replying to his comment about '03 doing better high end because it's lighter... his comment didn't talk to aerodynamics.

to make things easy... same car body, one is 300 pounds lighter but has 15hp less. Which would 'do better' at 120mph?

(whatever "do better" means )

Auto vs. Auto i think the 04 would take it, just because of the 5 speed AT. As for the 6'ers where's stevevtec at ?

Dear Mr. High & Mighty,

Get a LIFE!

Cuz, I posted this thread for a friendly discussion and diplomatic banter regarding the new Max. My god man, why you cannot recognize that 99% of .org members take this thread in the manner it was intended to, perplexes me. Have you read the responses? Most will agree, that it will be a drivers race (Or whose DBW f*cks up first.) Each gen Max their own advantages.

And in case you forgot, the Maxima is known for performance. Why would we not compare it to the previous gen in that scope. This is a legitmate topic. So relax cuz.

I too, envy the 04 owners, but not enough to get one. My 02 fits my style more than the new one. Which one will will actually run the 1/4 first will make no diff in my life (not in yours either.)

YOU are creating a 'war' atmosphere. Most us respect the other Max whether its a 3,4,5,6 gen. YOU are framing my thread in this manner- Noone else! Take a look in the mirror cuz.
Oooh! Looks like I struck a nerve! Good! I call it like I see it!! What's the matter, you can't accept the fact that someone is questioning your post??? This is the internet, buddy and if YOU are this sensitive about about a response to YOUR post to lash out like you did, then maybe YOU should not be posting on any forum!!

If this makes no difference in your life as you state it, WHY DID YOU POST THIS SAME THREAD IN THIS FORUM AND THE 6TH GEN FORUM??? My OPINION is that YOU were looking to start something. I am entitled to MY OPINION and I expressed it. If you don't agree with it, that is YOUR problem, not MINE.

I can accept the fact that people don't agree with some of my posts but I don't go around and FLAME people for it! So what, big deal. I'm man enough to accept it. I guess YOU don't have the maturity to express yourself in a civil manner. Normally, I don't engage in an internet argument but I made an exception here.. Since I can't respond to the other thread, I'm responding here.

Congratulations, YOU have just become the FIRST member of my ignore list!
