I could have traded up, but have a kid starting college in a couple years. I figured I need to have at least one car paid off by then, and couldn't think of one I'd rather have than the Max.

OT, but its nice to know that a man of your age is still into modding his car. I am 25 and my father being 52 thinks modding is a waste of money. I tell him its an addiction, pure and simple....

I've always liked customizing my cars somehow - I hate having a car that's the same as everyone else's (no grief about the Evo's please - I've yet to see another car in NJ that has 'em LOL). I lived with the Max in its stock form until I made the decision to buy it. Once that decision was made, the upgrades started. All the mods I've made have been done since mid-February. I now like the car even more than the day I brought it home.
Today was the first nice Saturday we've had in ages. I took the opportunity to swap out the gear oil for Redline, and I finally installed the Frankencar. I haven't driven it much, but the for the short time I had it out, it was loud enough for my wife to ask what the noise was, and that's saying something
I put my Maxspeeds in about 6 weeks ago, but I've since blown a rear shock (I left the stock shocks in - oh well, live and learn.) I bought the GR2's for the rear, and took the struts out tonight. First thing tomorrow will be swapping the shocks and getting them back on the car. Fronts will be next, probably next month.
Next up is probably a y-pipe. The Budget one is sounding better and better, and I'm beginning to think that a cat-back might be necessary, too. Can ya tell the bug has bit me bad?
