What the heck u yacking about. I have heard you could not afford the
2K3 Maxima and are now driving a 4 banger Camry. yeesh

 

I can smoke any prelude... I have smoked a lot of preludes... preludes hates me My 2k3 is auto too... my friend has a 94 prelude none VTEC with headers, exhaust and an intake... and
I can smoke him any day any time... especialy on the highway (after 35-40 mph my maxima is a rocket) I have a lot of stories with the preludes

Besides who wouldnt want a camry over a maxima.... :O

My neice's 00 Si 5 spd couldn't keep pace with my 02 Altima 2.5s ATX from a dead stop, on a roll, up a hill...nothing. You have nothing to worry about. You're pulling 600lb more than him, but you've got better than double the torque.

When he loses he will clain it wasn't a fair race because you have 2 more cylinders and possibly will accuse you of an engine swap or something.

 

I've killed worse with my 2.5SL 02 Altima automatic.....no worries dude....but I'd seriously have a good strong laugh in his face and tell him he's not worth the 93 octane!

 

Just make sure he doesnt have a tail like this, Cause if he does the downforce will give him an advantage, especially since his car is FWD.





Also, watchout for Type R stickers and Emblems

 

My last car was an Integra GS-R, so I can speak from experience on this (having owned the 170hp VTEC and the 227hp VQ)... depending on what kind of a driver he is, you should smoke him. He's right that 3rd gear is by far the strongest gear on that car, but it still wouldn't be enough with all of your torque. Unless your car is suffering badly from poor maintenance (bad plugs, dirty filter, etc), you'll be fine.

 

Tell him to come race you when he's beating 2k+ GT Mustangs (V6's don't count). Then remind him that you have a back seat that an adult can actually sit in.

Yes, I always get those Civic SI/SI(r) drivers revving their engines next to me and their wide eyes show me how they feel about my Altima keeping with them when I'm not even flooring it. Then I floor it, wave "Bye bye" and stare at them at the next light with the "What were you thinking" look.

Smoke his ***, take his money and tell him to shut the **** up. Once you are hitting second or third gear you will pull on him like he is standing still. He might get you off the line for a split second if he has manual.

The thing with torque, is it really starts showing up when you hit the higher gears, and Hondas are notorious for high horsepower, low torque engines. I've driven an SI, and it was nothing special.

Bet as much money as you can get out of him. Entice him with 3 to 1 odds if you must. Then smoke him, take his money, and tell the ***** to STFU.

 

seriously... u should have NO problem with him... as long as u race long enough... since he is a manual.. .he will have a slight edge over u in the start.. but as long as u get at least like 1/6.. or 1/5 of a mile... that's plenty of room to catch up...

 

as stated before you should smoke him, the only trouble ive had from a honda/acura was a friend of mines '92 integra GS-R (with the stock B17,ported and polished, painted cf hood and lightend rims and no spoiler) his best time at the track was 15.01 and my best time was a 14.9. Still all and all you should win.
