Intake sensor Question

I was looking over the stick Intake placement and associated sensors on my 2000 SE and noticed that there is a small sensor in the stock Intake, there is also another sensor or wire on the outside of the intake. What are these for and what happens to them when the stock air box is replaced with a mod?(INjen, Frankencar, etc)

Also, what will happen when you use a GAB, will these sensors work, will the ECU throw a code?

Thanks in advance

the one in stock scoop is the air temp sensor. the one right after the filter is the maf. with either disconnected, the ecu will throw a check engine light but without the maf it wont run over 3k rpms. if you do the gab, dont touch any of the sensors.

is there a way not to take the air temprature sensor( the one on the scoop) without the light being turned on?

not that im aware of. i have moved mine from my midpipe back to stock scoop and back again with no difference being felt. those without midpipes just ziptie the sensor as close to the filter as possible. the 2k2 and up have this sensor built into the maf.

The sensor that goes into the midpipe (not maf) should send a CEL light, but wont put you in limp mode. If you're doing the GAB, you dont need to move any of the sensors.
