Getting tint without a warranty for a lower price...

I have a guy who will do 7 windows for $180, with basically a 1 week warranty in case he messes up. After that, I would be **** outta luck. My other choice that I have, as far as the lowest price, is 250 with a lifetime warranty. $70 is a large enough amount to warrant getting the tint without any warranty. So, is it safe to go without a warranty? What can happen to regular black tint that would make me upset that I did not go with the warranty and the more expensive price?

Why? My friend got his done about 6 months ago and it looks fine. Here in San Francisco there isn't much sun to damage it, if that is what people who get the warranty are worried about.

What if you accidently scratch your tint? What if you roll your windows down by mistake within the 3 days?

Look at the cheap tint after about 2 years. It will start turning purple, bubbling, and pealing-especially here in Houston. Shops who offer lifetime warranty will almost always use a different film for the job. The quality of the two films are different. Do yourself a favor, spend the extra and get the lifetime warranty film.

It's hard to find any place that will do it for under 200 here in California.

I just got mine done in Albany, NY for $190 (before tax) with a life time/no bull**** warranty.

You get what you pay for definitly, however you have to watch out for not being scammed also.

will he use the exact same tint, only one is warrantied for 7 days and the other is warrantied for life? If he screws up the tint you'll know in the first week... after that you're paying for an "in case"... I'd save the $70

you definitely want a warranty especially if you are in a really hot climate....in most cases, within 2 years ur tint will be faded from all the sun saturation.....unless you'd rather re-cough up $180 for another tint job in 2+ years, pay the extra $$$ and get the warranty tint....also go for full metallic if you live in a heated climate, it will last a bit longer...

Definitely go with the warranty - $70 isn't enough savings to risk having to re-do it in a few years (and spend another $200+).

BTW, I had mine done here in Houston for $150, including the moonroof - no doubt it varies around the country, but you might check some other shops.

I have a buddy that tints for a living. Trust me--buy the good metallic film with the warranty. Dyed films always fade, and cheap films turn purple and bubble up. It costs too much to retint later. Do it right the first time.

Its not just fading, its cheap tint, or tint not applied well, that sometimes starts peeling from the tops of the windows where it tucks into the door frame... Spend the money and do it right.. This isn't a honda board

skypoi platit dvazgdi dont do it. In Baltimore area, you can have your car tinited for 165 w/lifetime wtty. If there are too few tint shops in your area, pay $250. Most problems with tint appeat after a few months.

You want warranty! I paid $280 for 5 windows w/lifetime warranty, but they do a great job, and they'll be around if I have any problems down the road.

Go to noriega and 23rd I think, they got pretty cheap prices. I did mine like a year ago and I only paid 200.
